Creating the perfect fit - this is the challenge we set ourselves together with our partners from the University of Innsbruck and the University of Iaşi.
Dr Tom Wright, from the Research Institute for Textile Chemistry and Textile Physics at the University of Innsbruck, helped us to identify the processes we needed to implement and showed us sustainable solutions for our more technical problems.
"I believe that Uniqfeel offers a much-needed alternative for people who want a comfortable fit and for those who deviate from the 'perfect norm'."
- Tom Wright
We started by investigating the relationship between fit and compression, as well as fabric stretch and opacity. The aim was to find the formula for the right fit for each shape while simultaneously solving design and manufacturing difficulties.

How did we find the perfect shape for each type of figure? We gave yoga and dance students leggings with different stretch and in several sizes and then had them evaluate the fit against six key areas of their body.
"The challenge was to scientifically analyse the collected data and transfer it into a product. In addition, testing with yoga classes, pole dancers, fitness studios and many other athletes was a huge endeavour." - Tom Wright
The result of all of this research is Size You – the perfect fit for your hips, waist, thighs, knees, calves and ankles.
For Dr Wright, the innovation is a combination of fabric stretch, compression and comfort. He predicts it will lead to widespread industry adoption and customers will love their tailor-made products. Considering the technical capabilities of the configurator, Dr Wright believes that this is just the beginning of product personalization.
